Speak Up For Others - a Career as a Barrister
All employed and self-employed barristers are invited to register for the “Speak Up for Others – a Career as a Barrister” scheme. If you are willing to give up a few hours of your time to speak at a school about a career at the Bar then please volunteer.
The Bar Council’s aim is to enhance awareness of the role and training path of barristers. Each year the schools, sixth form colleges and universities are invited to participate. If you decide to volunteer the Bar Council will provide you with a briefing pack to assist with the talk.
Please note that the barristers already on the scheme will remain on our database unless they ask to be removed.
This service has been very successful, but we currently do not have enough barristers outside London. We especially need barristers in the following areas:
- Wales
- Devon
- Cornwall
- Bedfordshire
- Cumbria
- Northamptonshire
- Gloucestershire
To join the scheme please contact Marisa Booker by email or telephone 020 7611 1324.
