Nicholas Green QC - Chairman of the Bar

Nicholas Green QC, a tenant at Brick Court Chambers, was awarded a PhD in law in 1985, was Called to the Bar in 1986, and took silk in 1998. He was appointed a Crown Court Recorder in 2004.
A leading QC in European Law, Public and Administrative Law, and Competition Law, Nicholas is described by the current edition of Chambers and Partners as having "a keen legal mind, excellent commercial sense and a real thirst for interesting and difficult cases". He holds an honorary Professorship at the University of Leicester, has lectured widely in England and abroad and is extensively published in over 60 journals worldwide.
Nicholas regularly appears before the English Courts, the Privy Council, domestic and international arbitral panels, public and Governmental inquiries and tribunals, the UK Competition Commission, the UK Competition Appeals Tribunal, the European Commission, the European Court of First Instance (CFI) and the European Court of Justice (ECJ), international regulatory panels and courts.
Prior to becoming Chairman of the Bar, Nicholas chaired the Bar’s European Committee, Policy Advisory Group and Legal Services Committee. He has been a member of the Bar Council’s General Management Committee since 2002.
