Gwefan Cyngor y Bar a Thestun yn yr Iaith Gymraeg

Mae Cyngor y Bar (trwy ei reoleiddiwr cwbl annibynnol, Bwrdd Safonau'r Bar) yn cynrychioli ac yn rheoleiddio 15,387 o fargyfreithwyr sy'n ymarfer yn Lloegr a Chymru. Yr ydym hefyd yn darparu gwasanaethau ar gyfer bargyfreithwyr nad ydynt yn ymarfer, sy'n talu tanysgrifiad gwirfoddol.

Yn ôl ystadegau sydd ym meddiant Cyngor y Bar, gwyddom am ryw 70 o aelodau o'r Bar sy'n siarad Cymraeg ac yn ymarfer eu proffesiwn. Yn ddelfrydol, fe hoffem gynnig yr holl ddeunydd sydd ar wefan hon yn Gymraeg ar gyfer y bargyfreithwyr hyn ac ymwelwyr eraill sy'n siarad Cymraeg. Fodd bynnag, oherwydd costau uchel cyfieithu, a hefyd y ganran weddol fechan o'n defnyddwyr a fyddai'n elwa arno, ni allwn, ysywaeth, ddarparu'r gwasanaeth hwn. Yr ydym yn ymddiheuro os yw hyn yn achosi siom neu anghyfleustra.

Use of Welsh language on the Bar Council website

The Bar Council represents and regulates (through its independent ring-fenced regulator the Bar Standards Board) 15,387 practising barristers in England and Wales. We also provide services to non-practising barristers who pay a voluntary subscription.

According to statistics held by the Bar Council, we are aware of around 70 Welsh-speaking practising members of the Bar. Ideally, we would like to offer all of the material on this website in Welsh for these barristers and other Welsh-speaking visitors. However, owing to the prohibitively high translations costs, and also the relatively small percentage of our users who would benefit, we are unfortunately unable to provide this service. We apologise if this causes disappointment or inconvenience.
