Equality and Diversity Training

The Equality and Diversity Training programme has been developed with the assistance of the Bar Council's Training Sub Group.   For details of our Equalities Training Programme for 2012 please see below:

Equality and Diversity Awareness Training Toolkit

This training toolkit was developed by members of the Bar Council Equality and Diversity Committee as a practical aid to chambers.  The Toolkit aims to raise diversity awareness through a series of practical case studies drawn from the experience of applying equality and diversity policies in chambers plus a summary of the legal and regulatory duties.  They are designed for barristers, chambers Equal Opportunity Officers, practice managers and clerks.  They carry 1.5 cpd hours and sessions are run on a monthly basis.

Implementation of the Equality and Diversity Code

This is an in-depth course which focuses on the implementation of the Equality and Diversity Code in Chambers. This course is delivered by the Legal Action Group.  It is accredited with four CPD hours and runs over two evenings.

Managing Career Breaks - Annual Seminar

This seminar is run every autumn at the Bar Council for those about to take a career break, those returning from a career break and for those in chambers managing the career breaks of others.

If you would like to register to attend any of the above courses please email Angela Campbell.
