1 November 2011 - Michael Todd QC, the Chairman-Elect of the Bar Council, which represents barristers in England and Wales, has called for further modernisation of civil litigation. Speaking at the International Bar Association's Annual Conference in Dubai, on 'advocacy in commercial litigation', he said the time has come to find ways for the more efficient delivery of dispute resolution services.

27 October 2011 - The Chairman and Chairman-Elect of the Bar Council, which represents barristers in England and Wales, are leading a delegation to the International Bar Association’s Annual Conference in Dubai. Over 70 barristers will be taking part in the Conference, which is the largest number to date, demonstrating the ever increasing international outlook of the profession.

24 October 2011 - An alliance of organisations which represents the rights and needs of women, children, families and victims of domestic abuse and/or are engaged in the administration of family justice, has published a Manifesto for Family Justice, ahead of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders (LASPO) Bill moving into Report Stage in the House of Commons.
