To all practising employed Juniors under 7 years’ call: Bar Council elections

22 October 2015

The recently-concluded process of electing members to the 2016 Bar Council failed to yield sufficient candidates in the category of employed Juniors under 7 years' call. In line with Part II, 7(d) of the Bar Council's constitution, three casual vacancies will now be filled by appointment and the term of those appointed members will be one year.

Expressions of interest are therefore invited from practising employed Juniors under 7 years' call who wish to join Bar Council for 2016.

All candidates must hold a valid practising certificate. Candidates are asked to submit a short statement of no more than 200 words to demonstrate their suitability for the post by 17:00 on 3 November 2015 to Elections@BarCouncil.org.uk.

These statements will be circulated to Bar Council 2015 members who will each vote for their preferred candidate. It is anticipated that the results will be made known in mid-November and ratified at the Bar Council meeting on 16 January 2016.

Further information regarding membership of Bar Council can be found in the Constitution, here. Alternatively, please email Elections@BarCouncil.org.uk with any queries you may have.
