Access to Justice - Access for All?

Organised by the Young Barristers’ Committee

The forum will consider the extent to which current and future educational, regulatory and funding arrangements facilitate or hinder access to the profession; and the consequent impact on justice.

Issues to be debated include the Legal Services Act 2007 and the impact on the Young Bar of the introduction of Alternative Business Structures (ABSs), Legal  Disciplinary Partnerships (LDPs) and Barrister Only Partnerships (BOPs); entry to the Bar and training issues - including the Neuberger Report and the Wood Reports on BVC and Pupillage; and the relationship  between fair remuneration and high quality advocacy.
