Access to Justice – What Price Justice

Organised by the Employed Barristers’ Committee

Evidence suggests employed barristers face Code of Conduct concerns when considering pro bono casework; perceived difficulties include fears that their expertise is gained via their employer, resulting in potential areas of conflict of interest. This workshop aims to de-mystify the rules and will develop and update knowledge of professional standards for employed barristers undertaking this important work.  There will be an interactive element to the workshop, covering what it is possible to do within the Code of  Conduct, and giving practical examples of best practice and pitfalls to avoid.
