Cultural Practices - Victims Injustices
Organised jointly by the South Eastern and Midland Circuits
This workshop will debate the denial of access to justice for victims of crime both in this country and beyond through cultural practices which conflict with the law. The contributors will consider how cultural practices adversely affect victims of “honour” based violence, forced marriages and corruption, and discuss ways in which communities, lawyers and, significantly, the whole justice system can better understand and prevent the injustices being faced by those victims.
