Justice for Witnesses and Victims of Crime

Organised by the Criminal Bar Association

The role of witnesses and victims of crime within the criminal justice system is an issue which has sparked considerable debate in recent times. What does justice for witnesses and victims mean today? Can it be achieved without undermining the right of a defendant to a fair trial? What can practitioners do in preparation both to get the best out of witnesses at trial and to instil in them confidence in the system? The answers to these questions and consideration of best practice will be discussed in an interactive forum with a distinguished panel.
