Legal Services Act 2007

The Bar Council has welcomed the Legal Services Act, which received Royal Assent on 30th October 2007.  The Act, which was introduced as a Bill into the House of Lords in 2006, provides for new models of legal services delivery and will reform the regulation of the legal profession.

The Legal Services Bill was given a 2nd Reading by the House of Commons on 4th June. 

The Bar Council produced the attached Briefing Note for Parliamentarians.
