This years' event - open to both male and female delegates - will cover a range of issues affecting women in the legal field today, and of interest to non-female practitioners as well, in both plenary and workshop format, including:
- Successful rainmaking for women lawyers: a panel of seasoned experts will share the secrets of their success
- Trafficking of women and children: what can international lawyers do to help solve or reduce the epidemic?
- Bankruptcy and finance: the financial world post the 2008 - 9 crash
- Legal management: management issues in the legal profession and how women have stepped up to the challenge
- Corporate social responsibility best practices: are universal or uniform rules desirable around the world?
- M&A Workshop: a hypothetical cross-border case
This varied, yet relevant programme will be presented by speakers from over 20 international jurisdictions spanning private practice, in-house counsel, national agencies and associations, NGO's and business. The conference will be opened by IBA President, Fernando Pelàez-Pier.

In addition to the thought provoking substantive sessions, the conference features an exclusive social programme including a drinks reception and gala dinner at the Law Society of England and Wales. The drinks reception, open to all delegates and guests, will feature the presentation of the 4th Outstanding International Women Lawyer Award. Sponsored by Lexis Nexis, this award recognises a woman lawyer who has achieved professional excellence in her field whilst also advancing the opportunities of fellow female practitioners within a practice area or segment of the profession. Conference attendance scholarships:
The Women Lawyers’ Interest Group is happy to announce that scholarships will again be awarded to lawyers who wish to participate in the 4th World Women Lawyers Conference on 15 and 16 April 2010 in London, but who are unable to do so owing to financial constraints.
