Chairman of the Bar Criticises BBC drama series Criminal Justice

The Chairman of the Bar has criticised the inaccuracate depiction of the Bar in the drama series Criminal Justice which begins on BBC 1 this evening. In a strongly worded condemnation, Timothy Dutton QC said: "Criminal justice is not a game and it is a travesty to suggest that practitioners see it in that way."

Information for Users of the CPR

The next update of the CPR will commence in October 2008.  However, form N244 General form of application has been updated and courts (with the exception of the Administrative Court and the Commercial Court) will be using the updated form from the beginning of June.

Legal Services Commission says 140K figure for average family earnings was an error

 The Legal Services Commission has written to the Times to make it clear that the 140K quoted as an average figure for family earnings at the Bar was incorrect, and that this figure was not given at the press briefing.
