Bar Council welcomes new Head of Member Services

16 June 2008

The Bar Council has today welcomed the new Head of Member Services, Paul Mosson, who will head up the recently created Member Services Department.  Following a review of the Bar Council’s services for the 15,000 barristers it represents, the Member Services Department has been established to improve the delivery of member services provided on a commercial basis to the Bar community.

Mosson joins the Bar Council from the National Housing Federation, where he was Business Sales and Support Manager, delivering services to 33,000 employees of the federation’s members through conferences, training, publications and affinity partnerships.  As Head of Member Services, Mosson will spearhead initiatives including a review of existing products and services, the development of new commercial opportunities; and the execution of new policies and procedures. The department’s work will be overseen by the Member Services Board, chaired by Tim Howe QC, which will provide strategic oversight and direction.

Tim Dutton QC, the Chairman of the Bar, said:

‘We are delighted to welcome Paul Mosson as the new Head of Member Services.  He has an impressive  track record and I look forward to working with him  and the Member Services Board, as we develop and implement  a strategy for improving the Bar Council’s  services to its members.’
