Response by the Bar Council’s CFA Panel to the MoJ Consultation, Controlling Costs in Defamation Proceedings

The Bar Council’s CFA Panel have responded to the MoJ Consultation, Controlling Costs in Defamation Proceedings: Reducing Conditional Fee Agreement Success Fees. The consultation paper seeks views on a proposal to reduce the maximum success fees lawyers can currently charge in some defamation and other publication related proceedings from 100% to 10% of base costs.
