David Josse QC

Chambers: 5 St Andrew's Hill

Areas of Practice: Criminal, International Criminal and Humanitarian, Extradition

Year of Call: 1985

Year of Silk: 2009

David Josse QC has a general domestic criminal practice, and was an Inn sponsor many years ago. From 2005 to 2010, Josse QC was engaged full time at International Criminal Tribunal for former Yugoslavia in The Hague, defending in 2 large war crime trials.

From 2010 onwards, Josse QC returned to domestic practice in Silk, after making his application from abroad. He was not a member of any Chambers (save technically his own in The Hague), and was largely detached from the English Bar. Most of his referees (both judicial and non-judicial) had no connection to English practice. Furthermore, whilst in domestic practice he had never been in a set of Chambers where anyone had ever taken Silk, and is open and willing to advise and assist prospective applicants contemplating applying in light of such circumstances.
