Brexit Working Group meeting

Date: 13 July 2016

Time: 17:30 - 00:00

Serle Court, 6 New Square, Lincoln's Inn, London

Following the decision of the United Kingdom electorate on 23 June to leave the European Union, the Bar Council has established a Brexit Working Group, chaired by Hugh Mercer QC.

The working group will initially consider the possible implications for the profession of leaving the European Union and is holding a meeting next Wednesday, 13th July, for barristers to highlight their concerns with the group.

Wednesday's meeting will take the form of an information gathering session and the working group will use the concerns raised to produce ongoing information and guidance for the profession. This advice will be made available on the Bar Council website so that members of the profession throughout England and Wales can access it irrespective of location, and the guidance will be updated on a rolling basis.

As the process for the UK's departure from the EU evolves, the working group will consider other issues and concerns as appropriate.

The meeting will be held at Serle Court, 6 New Square, Lincoln's Inn, London, from 17:30 on Wednesday 13 July. Please do go along if you would like to raise your concerns with the working group and help influence its priorities.

Places are limited, so please email PhilipRobertson@BarCouncil.org.uk if you wish to attend.
