Bar Council publishes second representational Annual Report 'Representing the Bar'

20 September 2013

The Bar Council, which represents barristers in England and Wales, has today published the second edition of its annual report, 'Representing the Bar', focusing on its representational activities, which details performance against the three-year Strategic and Business Plan, which the Bar Council approved in 2011.

'Representing the Bar' has been published alongside the Bar Council's 'Financial Statements 2012/13', which includes information on its independent regulator, the Bar Standards Board (BSB), and Central Services, which are shared by the Bar Council and BSB.

Maura McGowan QC, Chairman of the Bar Council, said:

"I am delighted to be publishing the second edition of 'Representing the Bar', our annual representational report. Communication remains vitally important and we endeavour to report regularly on the activities we undertake on behalf of the profession. These are very challenging times for the Bar. Representing the Bar's interests to our various stakeholders is vital to its future. Our report sets out the breadth of our activity and how we have used our resources."
