• 26 August 2015 - The first ever Bar Council Pupillage Fair will take place on 21 November 2015 and will be a hub of information for students considering a career at the Bar and a chance to meet chambers as well as course providers.

  • 21 August 2015 - Update for the profession: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Bar of England and Wales will be held at 11:00 on Saturday 19 September 2015 in room 1.1 of the Bar Council (289-293 High Holborn, London WC1V 7HZ). It will be preceded by a meeting of the Bar Council.

  • 18 August 2015 - In response to changes in legislation, from 2016 legally qualified Chairs will replace Police Chairs on Police Misconduct Panels. These Panels preside over serious misconduct cases in what is an important aspect of the disciplinary rules that govern the police.

  • 12 August 2015 - The Bar Council is to delve deeper into the impact of moving the Pupillage Gateway annual opening from April to January.

  • 10 August 2015 - The Bar Council's 2015 Legal Reporting Awards are now open to entries with £1,000 prize money on offer to the winners of each category. Now in its 24th year, the competition is open to print, online and broadcast journalists in recognition of the media's role in civil society; helping the public to understand legal issues and holding authority to account.
