In January 2021 the Bar Council of England and Wales are commencing a two-year project, sponsored by the Ministry of Justice, to expand barristers’ practice rights internationally through the development of Memoranda of Understanding and Mutual Recognition Agreements with legal regulators abroad. The aim is to facilitate simplified access to overseas legal professional titles and to rights of audience in local and international courts.
