About the course
This course is specifically designed to help chambers to comply with training requirements for Equality and Diversity Officers (EDOs), as set out in the BSB Equality Rules Handbook. Developed for anyone with responsibility for implementing the BSB's Equality and Diversity rules or anyone with a management role in chambers, the course is based on a deep understanding of how chambers work in practice.
Advanced equality and diversity (E&D) training goes further than simply showing you how to comply with the rules by explaining their purpose and their role in good chambers management. As part of the course you will explore genuine E&D challenges in a chambers context.
The course will give you:
- A clear understanding of the BSB's rules,
- The skills to dealing with E&D issues in chambers,
- A clearer idea of your own role in promoting E&D in chambers; and
- Awareness of the opportunity a greater understanding of E&D represents for good chambers management.

Paperless training packs
To minimise environmental impact and the amount of paper you have to carry with you, Bar Council training packs are paperless. As a delegate you will receive the materials you need for the training by email in advance, which you can access on your laptop or tablet or print in advace if required.
Throughout the training, there will be references to various Bar Council guidance or external documents which are included as a hyperlink within the attendee workbook.
