About the candidate:
Successful applicants will be joining an established team with an opportunity to build an excellent practice nationally. Based preferably in our London or Bristol centres, you can expect to have a busy practice.
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate they have developed their professional skills during their initial period of pupillage. They will have excellent advocacy skills, strong analytical skills and great cross-examination ability. They will be able to demonstrate a real commitment to personal injury law and clinical negligence disputes.
The third six months pupils/probationary tenants will benefit from pro-active support and be allocated a member of chambers as a mentor (akin to a supervisor) and work alongside a more junior barrister who will fulfil a similar, but more informal, role.
You will be supported by an excellent and dedicated clerking team, as well as all members of chambers. Third six pupillages are unfunded and the successful candidate will be expected to generate their own income from our caseload.
The probationary tenancy (third six pupillage) will last for up to 6 months, with an option after 4 months to assess progress. Successful applicants can expect to be busy and in court regularly. Supported by efficient and professional staff, this is a great opportunity to further develop your career within 3PB's friendly, collegiate environment.
Chambers is committed to providing our clients with high quality, specialist legal services through barristers with the highest reputation for advocacy, knowledge and professional standards and we are looking for candidates who will uphold these core values.
We would expect to take up references from earlier pupillages.
