'How to become a barrister' events

The Bar Council delivers five 'How to become a barrister' events per year, one in each Circuit (South East, Western, North, Northeast and Midlands). Each event includes sessions focussed on:

The event includes sessions focused on:

  • Studying law at university

  • Pathways into a career as a barrister

  • The working life of a barrister

  • Interesting cases/current issues/developments in law

  • Case study in law, and

  • A question and answer session.

The events take place on a Saturday, are free to attend, and run on a first come first serve basis. They are open to all sixth form students, particularly those from state schools, with an interest in learning about a career at the Bar. Non sixth-form students should contact careers@barcouncil.org.uk; they will be considered if there is space.

The following 'How to become a barrister' events will take place in 2018:

  • Saturday 30th June, at BPP Waterloo, London (South Eastern Circuit). Click here to find our more and reserve your space.
