The Bar Council has confirmed that this year's official Pupillage Fair on 27 October 2018 in London will feature the social mobility advocates from the successful #IamtheBar campaign.

Students considering a career as a barrister who attend the annual Bar Council Pupillage Fair at King's College London, Bush House Buildings, will have an opportunity to network, attend panel-led talks, receive one-to-one advice from practising barristers on CVs, pupillage applications and interview technique; and obtain careers advice about the Bar, from the Bar.

In addition, aspiring barristers who attend this year's fair will also get an insight into the varied career paths of today's practising barristers. Following the Bar Council's successful 'I am the Bar' social mobility campaign this summer, students will be able to meet the Bar Council's Social Mobility Advocates in person at the first ever 'I Am The Bar' panel and drop-in session. Those attending the fair will be able to find out more information about social mobility initiatives in chambers, the Inns of Court, on Circuits and at the Bar Council.

During the campaign, the Bar Council, which is the representative body for all barristers in England & Wales, shared the stories of 11 'Social Mobility Advocates' and were overwhelmed with the response to the campaign on Twitter, detailing the non-traditional routes many have taken to the Bar.

Over 800 aspiring barristers and 58 chambers, employed Bar organisations or Bar affiliated organisations have already booked to attend. Click here to find out more and to register your place for free.
