‘Access to justice: the view from the Bar’ report found that only one in five (22%) barristers think people have an acceptable level of access to justice and 15% said they “don’t know”.

The report was based on 3,669 barristers' answers to a question on access to justice in the Bar Council's biannual survey of the profession, Barristers' Working Lives, conducted in 2025.
