Amanda Pinto QC, Chair of the Bar, said: "It is essential that students have certainty over the future of their assessments.  Given the extremely undesirable situation and the limited timeframe, we recognise that this option may have been the most realistic in the circumstances. However, we remain of the view that for these exams the pass/fail approach we had suggested was preferable. The Bar Council also urged the BSB to provide all reasonable adjustments and allow students enough time to prepare, and we will continue to monitor the situation carefully and to do all we can to try to ensure it gives everyone the chance to do their best."
