In light of recent developments across the Middle East and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) travel advice, we have decided to postpone our upcoming Dubai event. We will explore alternative dates in due course, but as the visit was planned for Tuesday 31 March, it is not practical to continue preparations under the current circumstances.
We issued a statement on Sunday and the Bar Council is still encouraging barristers to 'register your presence abroad' to receive updates from the UK government.
British nationals in Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Palestine, Qatar and United Arab Emirates are now being encouraged to ‘register their presence’ to receive updates from the FCDO.
Barristers should follow the travel advice for the country, the advice of the local authorities and the relevant British embassy or consulate.
The FCDO have issued updated information for Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
