The Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Groups at No5 Barristers’ Chambers have a longstanding reputation for excellence in advocacy, advisory work and developing the law.
Comprising over 60 barristers, including six King’s Counsel, our members are recognised as leaders in their fields. They appear at every level of the courts of England and Wales, including the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, and are regularly instructed in many of the country’s most significant and high profile serious injury and clinical negligence cases.

Recognised by the legal directories for the strength and depth of our expertise, the Groups continue to go from strength to strength and are supported by one of the largest and most experienced specialist clerking teams at the Bar.

In turn, we recognise that choosing the right Chambers is about more than the quality of work. It is about finding an environment where you can develop, be supported and build a successful practice for the long term. No5 fosters a collegiate, approachable and inclusive culture. Our specialist clerking team takes a proactive approach to practice development, working closely with members to identify opportunities, strengthen client relationships and maximise individual potential. No5 is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion.

Members benefit from No5’s national presence, an established and loyal client base, a market-leading rent structure and modern facilities across our Birmingham, London and Bristol offices including excellent IT and library resources.

Probationary Tenancy
Due to a high volume of work and in line with Group plans for growth, we are now inviting applications from exceptional practitioners seeking to undertake a six-month Probationary Tenancy commencing in Autumn 2026.

Successful applicants will receive immediate access to a broad range of high-quality work and will be fully supported by Group leadership, other members and our dedicated clerking team throughout their probationary tenancy.

Based on current work levels within the Groups, candidates can realistically expect to generate upwards of £50,000 in gross fee income during the six-month probationary tenancy, subject to individual performance.

Following successful completion of Probationary Tenancy, candidates will be offered the opportunity to join one of the country’s leading Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence teams, and will enjoy excellent long-term prospects.

Interviews will be held during August and September 2026.
