International visits and events
The Bar Council organises a number of bespoke international visits and events, both at home and abroad. These include business development trips overseas, conferences on English and Welsh law, and various domestic and international events such as seminars, roundtables, and the hosting of incoming delegations of overseas lawyers.
These events are designed to promote the Bar in selected jurisdictions, and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and the development of legal links and legal business overseas.
Overseas missions and conferences are open to barristers who subscribe to the Bar Representation Fee.

Mexico Development Visit 2024
The Bar Council undertakes its fourth development visit to Mexico, from 12 to 13 September 2024.
Business development visit to East Africa
14-18 November 2022, the Bar Council organised its first business development visit to Africa in partnership with the Law Society of Kenya, the Tanganyika Law Society and the Tanzania International Arbitration Centre.
