About the webinar

In June 2024 the Bar Council commissioned Baroness Harriet Harman KC to lead an independent review of bullying, harassment and sexual harassment at the Bar.

Over the past year, Baroness Harman has taken evidence from across the Bar and visited each circuit to gain insight into the reasons for inappropriate behaviours, the impact they have and the barriers to improvement, as well as developing a set of recommendations for change.

In September 2025 we published Baroness Harman’s report. It makes 36 recommendations and identifies the organisations responsible for taking them forward.

Chair of the Bar Barbara Mills KC hosted the event and explained the background to the review. The Chair and Baroness Harman answered questions from attendees about the review, the recommendations and next steps.
