Speakers

Anjola Alabi, St Ives Chambers
Anjola is a common law pupil at St Ives Chambers. He will join Chambers as a tenant in October 2025.
Prior to pupillage, Anjola worked as a paralegal at Bhatt Murphy, predominantly on the UK Covid Public Inquiry. He also liaised with individuals wishing to instruct the firm, forming preliminary opinions on the viability of claims in police law, prison law, immigration detention and migrant rights.
Anjola spent eight months as the legal secretary and as a researcher at the nonprofit, WhistleblowersUK. Here, he assisted litigants in person in drafting court documents including specific disclosure applications and supported the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Whistleblowing on law reform.
Abroad, he interned at the Lagos Public Interest Law Partnership, teaching inmates court procedure in Lagos’ second largest prison. He also interned at the NGO, ‘Enough is Enough’ where his infographic, challenging the legality of the Nigerian Twitter ban, was published in two national newspapers.

Alice Hands, Temple Garden Chambers
Alice Hands is a barrister at Temple Garden Chambers and specialises in public law. She undertook a mixed common law pupillage. Prior to joining the Bar, Alice worked as a Legal Advisor to Grenfell Tower survivors and was instrumental in establishing a new legal advice clinic with the University College London Centre for Access to Justice. She has contributed to public policy in social security and housing law. Alice also spent 4 months in Houston, Texas, representing people facing the death penalty.
