This will be our first business development visit to Nigeria, a key and growing legal market in Africa. The programme is designed to build relationships with the Nigerian legal profession and support greater collaboration in areas of shared interest.

Focusing on commercial arbitration, investigations, and the rule of law, the visit will bring together UK and Nigerian practitioners through a mix of panel discussions, practical sessions, and stakeholder engagement. It will provide an opportunity to exchange expertise, expand professional networks, and explore future cross-border work opportunities.

If you're interested, please fill in the form below. The deadline for submissions is 15 July 2026.

Apply to be a speaker or a delegate

Applications are open for those wishing to join the programme as either a speaker or a delegate. To register your interest, please complete the delegate form below.

Who should apply?

We welcome applications from barristers with relevant experience or a strong interest in international work, particularly in the following areas:

  • Commercial arbitration and dispute resolution
  • Investigations, regulatory and compliance work (including ESG-related matters)
  • Rule of law or related fields

Applicants must be Bar Representation Fee (BRF) subscribers and demonstrate an interest in engaging with legal professionals and institutions in Nigeria.

Opportunities for financial support

We now offer two means-based bursaries for those who may require financial support to participate in the programme through our International Business Development Bursary Scheme. Applicants who wish to be considered should indicate this on the application form below. If selected to participate in the visit, applicants may then apply for bursary support via the separate application form provided.

Eligible applicants may also wish to apply for the International Grants Programme, which supports barristers under seven years’ call undertaking international activities.
