This course will guide you through your legal, regulatory, and policy responsibilities. You’ll leave equipped with a clearer understanding of inappropriate behaviour, your duty to report, how to make a complaint and what to expect from your chambers. You will know how to intervene if you witness inappropriate behaviour toward another person and where and how to access confidential advice and support.

All barristers, clerks and all chambers’ staff.
What will I learn?
Once you’ve completed this course, you’ll:
- Understand harassment, bullying and inappropriate behaviours and how these behaviours present at the Bar
- Be able to identify behaviours that may breach the law, professional standards or chambers’ expectations
- Understand your reporting obligations to your regulator/others
- Know what to expect of your chambers, including their duty to prevent sexual harassment, as well as good practice in handling complaints
- Learn techniques for tackling harassment and bullying in the workplace, including safe bystander interventions
- Know how to access confidential support and advice
