Public Access

The Public Access Rules came into force in July 2004 and members of the public are now able, in many circumstances, to instruct a barrister direct.

In order to undertake Public Access work, barristers need to attend a one day course approved by the Bar Standards Board. Member Services offers this course which fully trains barristers to allow them to accept any Public Access instruction while also earning 6.5 CPD hours. For other providers please click here.
