Help and Advice
This section contains Help and Advice in the following areas:
- BCAS. Barristers who are subject to a complaint can seek advice from the Barristers Complaints Advisory Service (BCAS)
- Bar Quality Advisory Panel - BQAP
- Equality and Diversity Advisers helpline
- Ethical Enquiries Line
- The Fees Collection Department can provide assistance to barristers who are owed money by solicitors
- LawCare: assistance for lawyers with work related health problems such as stress and depression and addictive illnesses

Arbitrations
Occasionally disputes can arise in Chambers and the Bar Council provides a free arbitration and conciliation service to subscribers to assist in resolving these issues. Click here for further information.

Bar Council Handbook
The Bar Handbook is a new annual publication from the Bar Council with Lexis Nexis Butterworths. For the first time, it brings together all the Bar Council’s current guidance and advice, ordered and contextualised by the authors, in a single point of reference.
BARMARK
BARMARK indicates that chambers comply with the Bar Council's Practice Management Standards and Guidelines. This Kitemark, which is regularly reviewed, sets standards of best practice for administering chambers. Click here for further information.

Counsel
Counsel is the monthly Journal of the Bar of England and Wales. It is largely written by and for barristers but is of interest to all lawyers.
