Bar Placement Scheme student application form

Applications for the 2026 Bar Placement scheme has now closed.

Application guidance 

• Consider who will be reading your application – this is a professional placement, so you should avoid being controversial for the sake of standing out. You might stand out in the wrong way
• Use the word count as much as possible. Very short answers are unlikely to give enough information and very long answers will look like they lack focus
• Think carefully about your reasons for wanting to explore being a barrister. We want to see evidence of interest in the Bar and in the law more generally  
• Don’t worry if you don’t have much work experience – demonstrate your interest and skills by your reading and hobbies
