Russia and CIS Training Scheme for Young Lawyers

This three-week programme offers a unique opportunity for Russian, Kazakhstani and Ukrainian lawyers to experience practice at the Bar of England and Wales. 

The Bar Council is confident that the programme will enhance participating lawyers' legal skills and knowledge, enable them to develop valuable contacts and assist them in building a successful international legal practice. In addition the lawyer's law firm can expect to gain valuable international contacts and an insight into the international legal market. 

The programme includes:

  • Attendance at the key bilateral event Russian Law Week 2018

  • A bespoke legal training course at  BPP Law School

  • Two weeks of practical placements in leading barristers' chambers

  • A social networking programme

  • Visits to key courts and legal institutions

  • Seminars on substantive law, legal skills and practice delivered by barristers

  • A one-day trip to Manchester or other UK City

  • Membership of an alumni network
