About the course

This practical course will equip you with the knowhow to implement fair allocation policies, better understand disparities in earnings and enable you to make the most of your existing chambers’ software.

Format and group size

  • A practical facilitated session including a step-by-step guide to using monitoring models and generating data,

  • Group work and discussion,

  • Pre-reading (provided); and

  • A maximum group size of 24 participants.

What the course covers

  • A detailed summary of the regulatory requirements of fair allocation of work,
  • Guidance to support compliance and best practice,
  • Practical examples of the models for monitoring how work is distributed to different groups within chambers,
  • Effective use of chambers’ software to generate management information and reports and to base targets on,
  • Discussion of the right approach for different types of practices and chambers, and how to effectively communicate earnings data; and
  • Using the information to support the retention and progression of under-represented groups including women and Black and ethnic minority barristers.
