Bar Nursery at Smithfield House - second open day on Saturday 8 June

The Bar Nursery at Smithfield House was launched last month and offers flexible childcare facilities in central London. Due to the popular demand of the first open day in April, the Bar Council is pleased to announce that another open day will be taking place on Saturday 8 June 2013 at Smithfield House Children's Nursery.

For the self-employed Bar, the financial costs of having a family can be particularly high, and as a result, many barristers in the current climate with caring responsibilities are feeling under growing pressure. The Bar Nursery offers flexible childcare facilities near the Inns of Court and special rates for all members of the Bar, as well as chambers staff and Bar Council employees.

The Bar Nursery at Smithfield House is located close to the Old Bailey, in Smithfield Market, and is open to children aged eight weeks to five years between 07:00 and 19:00, five days a week. The long opening hours are designed to help those whose practice involves extensive travel to appear in courts all over the country. The nursery offers flexible full-time and part-time day childcare packages, and importantly also emergency packages to cater for those who face unexpected problems with their existing childcare or who are listed at short-notice in court in central London.

The facilities at Smithfield House Children's Nursery are outstanding. The open day on Saturday 8 June 2013 is taking place between 10am and 4pm (*booking required) where the team will be happy to show the nursery to those who are considering childcare facilities in London. For further information, *to book on the open day or to book a place, please contact barcouncil@smithfieldnursery.co.uk or 020 3556 1594 and quote Bar Council, or visit www.smithfieldnursery.co.uk.
