Anti-racist training
Our comprehensive anti-racist training is for all barristers, clerks and chambers staff. This course has been designed by our Race Panel to meet the requirements in the Bar Standards Board's (BSB) anti-racist strategy.
In our 2021 and 2024 Race at the Bar reports, we provided recommended actions for chambers and organisations to undertake. All of our recommendations have been drafted to be in line with the BSB’s anti-racist statement. In the statement, the BSB asks chambers and barristers to take action.
This training is one of 4 anti-racist actions you’re required to implement. Our Race equality toolkit shows you how to act on race inequality in your chambers or organisation.

This course has been developed by members of our Race Panel. The panel selected the professionals who conduct this training based on their experience in delivering equality and diversity training.
A key element of being ‘anti-racist’ is to educate yourself on racism and race equality. General equality and diversity training is not sufficient to address race equality at the Bar. We recommend all chambers’ staff, Inns of Court staff, specialist Bar associations, including employed barristers, undertake this training.
