Helping young people find their voice
Speak for success is our schools programme empowering young people aged 7 – 11 with essential oracy skills and confidence, preparing them to excel in any career path, including law.
Sharing your expertise to help the next generation
Oracy is an important part of the national curriculum in England and Wales, teaching children to develop their spoken language skills to communicate effectively. As barristers, you demonstrate excellence in these skills in your daily lives – whether that’s forming a narrative, delivering well-structured arguments or using evidence and persuasive reasoning. We’ve worked with barristers, teachers and educational specialists to put together resources to support primary schools in teaching this vital subject.

How you can get involved
If you’re a barrister or chambers professional you can:
- Share these resources with your local school or teachers in your network
- Share this programme in chambers or your organisation
- Support development of this programme either through funding or providing content, such as case studies
Currently the resources are teacher-led, but as the programme develops next year we’d like to encourage barristers and chambers professionals to support with the delivery of the lessons and help bring the examples to life.
