Helping young people to find their voice
Speak for Success
Speak for success is our new schools programme empowering young people aged 7 – 11 with essential oracy skills and confidence, preparing them to excel in any career path, including law.
Sharing your expertise to help the next generation
Oracy is an important part of the national curriculum in England and Wales, teaching children to develop their spoken language skills to communicate effectively. As barristers, you demonstrate excellence in these skills in your daily lives – whether that’s forming a narrative, delivering well-structured arguments or using evidence and persuasive reasoning. We’ve worked with barristers, teachers and educational specialists to put together resources to support primary schools in teaching this vital subject.
Here's what teachers have to say about the resources:
- “The barrister input brings it to life and makes it real…making the oracy work more engaging.” Key stage 2 teacher
- “These are a set of high-quality resources that would be easy to use and adapt within a classroom.’ Key stage 2 teacher
How you can get involved
This programme is a great way to showcase a career as a barrister and share what you do in your day-to-day role. If you’re a barrister or chambers professional you can:
- Share this programme in chambers or your organisation
- Share these resources with your local school
- Support development of this programme for secondary schools either through funding or providing content, such as case studies
If you're interested in hearing more about this programme, register your interest to be the first to hear when they’re live. Our pilot will be taking place in June 2025, with full resources launched in September 2025.
